Cookie policy
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your terminal (computer, tablet, smartphone) during your visit to a website. It allows you to memorize your preferences, measure the site's audience or even offer you suitable content.
2. Cookies used on kanaftchian.com
Strictly necessary cookies (without consent)
These cookies are essential for the operation of the site and cannot be deactivated.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
cf_* | Cloudflare security and performance | Session |
hk_cookie_consent | Memorizing your choice regarding audience measurement | 6 months |
Language preference
Your manual language choice is stored only in your browser for 183 days, in local storage under the key hk.language-preference. It is not sent to a geolocation service. Your browser language is used to suggest another version, without an automatic redirect. Dismissing this suggestion is remembered for the session in hk.language-suggestion-dismissed. You can change language at any time with the site selector, or clear these preferences in your browser settings.
The contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated mailings. This security feature processes technical signals from the browser and is not used for advertising purposes.
Audience and performance measurement tools (consent required)
These tools help us understand how visitors use the site and measure its actual speed. They are only loaded after your agreement.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Website usage statistics and visitor journeys (anonymised) | 13 months |
_gid | Google Analytics 4 | Visitor identification (session) | 24 hours |
| No cookies | Cloudflare Web Analytics | Core Web Vitals and actual performance: LCP, INP, CLS, FCP and TTFB | No storage in the browser |
External content loaded on demand
When you launch an embedded video (YouTube interview), cookies are placed by YouTube according to its own policy. Before clicking on the play button, no resources are loaded from YouTube (lazy-loading via youtube-nocookie.com).
Google Maps are also blocked by default. They are only loaded after an explicit click on the “Show map” button present at the location concerned.
3. Cookie management
During your first visit, a banner allows you to accept, refuse or personalize audience measurement cookies. No optional choices are pre-activated and your decision has no impact on access to the site.
You can withdraw or modify your agreement at any time from the permanent “Cookie Preferences” button in the footer. Opting out deletes Google Analytics cookies accessible to the site and blocks any further Google Analytics or Cloudflare RUM measurement.
4. Disable cookies in your browser
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or be warned before they are placed:
Note: deactivating essential cookies may alter certain functionality of the site.
5. Third-Party Tools and Related Policies
6. Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and oppose your data. To exercise these rights or for any questions relating to cookies, contact us at hani@kanaftchian.com.
For more details, see our Privacy policy.
